Lutheran Women's Missionary League
Who is LWML?
LWML is hearts drawn close by the Holy Spirit, delighted in times of prayer, Bible study and worship with friends – sisters in Christ, women in mission – revealed in unparalleled fellowship. St Peter Lutheran Church LWML women meet for Bible study and prayer.
LWML supports Lutheran World Relief by making quilts and donating and assembling kits for distribution where needed. These include baby kits, personal care kits and soap. The group supports Lutheran Bible Translators, missionaries and the altar flower fund with monthly contributions. |
Bible Study and Prayer
LWML meets on the second Tuesday of each month for Bible study and prayer, nine months of the year (no summer meetings in June, July and August).
It never ceases to amaze us how the ladies and the congregation reach out to help each other. |
Dates and Events
Members meet to tie quilts every Tuesday from January through April. LWML Sunday is the first Sunday in October where we provide refreshment and information about yearly activities for the congregation. The women attend LWML Rallies sponsored by Flathead circuit congregations twice a year.
In December a Bazaar is held to raise funds for Lutheran World Relief, Love INC., and Sparrow’s Nest. The items for sale are made and donated by members of the congregation. |
Quilts
A main activity for our LWML ladies is the Quilting project. Material for this project is mostly donated by our group. Several ladies work on this project all year constructing the tops. We annually send 100 quilts to World Relief. LWML is open to all of the church ladies.
